Inspire Their Passion

When I was a child, my only passion was riding a bike. There was nothing like it. You could go faster than walking and it seemed as though you never got tired. You never know what type of a light bulb you might turn on by giving them the freedom to roam. So, enough of the nostalgic stuff, let’s take a look at this marvelously manufactured McLaren Carbon Fiber Balance Bike.

At the point where business meets the pavement are 12″ air filled rubber tires mounted on a lightweight magnesium alloy rim (inspired from McLaren Senna). And if you don’t know what that is, it is another product (like this balance bike) that is made by McLaren. Here is a picture of one:

Yeah, you can tell that they pay attention to detail. Now, I’m no expert, nor am I an engineer, but according to my research on Carbon Fiber (which is what the frame is entirely made out of) it provides the ultimate combination of weight to rigidity ratio.

At the Captain’s seat is high quality hand stitched leather for comfort and durability.

And it also has great gripping handlebars with exceptionally smooth steering; elegance intermingled with superior functionality.

As you can see from the ground up, you are getting one of the best balance bikes in the world for ages 3+. And every Balance Bike proudly wears a McLaren badge.

In your child’s pursuit in determining who they will become and what they will hold dear, you can help them to realize that elegance and great manufacturing isn’t a status to live up to, it is a standard that sets the bar. It should be what all manufacturers should strive to achieve, not to make it as cheaply as possible. This Balance Bike is made for durability and functionality, and it comes in two colors, McLaren Orange and Onyx Black.

You can get yours today by following this link: McLaren Carbon Fiber Balance Bike, and set the stage for your child’s passions and dreams. Somebody has to be among the next generation to excel, to achieve, to believe. Start them on the road to success by giving them a passion for the good things in life. Perhaps they will be driving flying machines some day and you will have paved the way to their future… Inspire their Passion!

And if you care to look into their Social Media Pages, just click on the appropriate icon below. Lots of people are always posting pictures and videos of their experiences with this product and there’s always new info to know there as well.

Believe it or not, our children can learn so much more than we give them credit for. Their brain is like a sponge; soaking up everything that comes their way. This is the perfect time to introduce them to a second language. We could probably debate on which language they should learn, but my thought process is that Spanish would be one of the top choices for a second language since it is used in so many parts of the world and the second most used in the United States.

Here is a typical classroom with Trufluency Kids. As you can see, multiple children can learn from the same class (provided they are within the same age group) and parents are encouraged to participate so that they can help reinforce their learning. No extra time away from the home, no extra traveling, and no large groups of individuals that inevitably take away from each child’s individuality.

If your child wants to learn without mom and dad looking over their shoulder, well that can happen too. Trufluency Kids is there to help your child (or children) progress as efficiently as possible. One of those ways is to interact with others who are also learning right along with your child. Why didn’t they have this kind of stuff when I was a kid?!?

These Spanish Classes for Kids is a great way to give your child a head-start in life and give them something that they can use for the rest of their life, this is definitely a good way to do it.

As a parent, we all want the best for our children. We want them to succeed in whatever they do and the more tools that we provide them with, the better prepared they will be in the future.

If you think that you might want to provide your child with a second language, why not check out Trufluency Kids. You can visit their sight and look into scheduling options that I’m sure will fit into your schedule. Here is the link: https://trufluencykids.com/spanish-class-schedule/.

I hope you find this helpful…

For most beginning readers, the idea of reading brings anxiety. Now multiply that with a learning disability or a vision problem and the whole process simply screeches to a halt.

MyLiBook takes on another approach where the reader doesn’t even know they are learning. MyLiBook places a new twist on reading where the reader is the hero.

Also, in addition to the books, there are also FREE printables complementary to MyLibook early reader series that you can download that will help keep your new reader moving forward. In a study conducted in 2014, experts found that:

“children exposed to personalized content showed significantly better knowledge about the words that were in the personalized sections of the books than the words in the non-personalized sections.”

Having little ones is a fantastic part of life. When you try to keep your child in clothes they love, it can become difficult. At least if you have children like I do. Their fashion changes, and then clothes just sit in the closet unworn. Something that may help is My Little Outfit

What I enjoy about My Little Outfit is how you can change the outfits so they do not sit unused. We waste so much money on clothes. Our kids grow so quickly, and their minds change like the weather!

My Little Outfit

With My Little Outfit, you can become a member and pay the membership fee. You can select the outfit you like, and all are the same price no matter the brand. When you receive it, your child could wear it once or a million times before you trade it in. You also have the option to keep it forever. When you are ready to trade in clothing, you can do just that. It can even be clothing you purchased at any store. Choose your new outfit, and your trade will be sent to you. It is that easy.

As I mentioned the membership before, know that you do not have to take part in that. You can simply just buy outfits if you choose to. These amazing second-hand clothing is perfect for your little ones if you participate in the membership or not. It is beneficial to be part of the membership, but not at all required. You receive 4 outfits when you are part of the membership program, so very nice indeed.

I know one of the things I put off is cleaning out my kids’ closets. When they grow, they just get pushed to the back of the closet. That is truly wasted. All the money I spend is either saved for the next in line, donated, or given to a friend. I could instead trade it in on a new outfit in a different size. This would keep their closets cleared out and save my wallet so much.

My Little Outfit

The brands available are excellent. Ones I shop for regularly and even more! I love the idea you can update their closet at any time, and when they grow out of things, you get to swap them for new outfits they can fit into.

Between growing children and different tastes in clothing, it can really damage your wallet. Luckily this is a way to keep their closet clutter-free with clothes they don’t wear and have them in clothes they enjoy and fit into anytime you need to!

My Little Outfit

This is something new and unique that I wish I knew about sooner with my older kids. The clothing is size 0-6 and most of my children are past that age range, but still have 2 left! This will be something I incorporate in the future. I have so much money invested in their clothes, and if they didn’t like them, I would end up giving them away or waiting for the next kid in line. So this would have been incredibly useful then and still is now.

Give it a shot and keep your child’s closet clutter-free with clothes they never wear or have grown out of. Trade them in for different outfits and keep their closet up to date with newer outfits. Give their wardrobe a break and your wallet!

I had the pleasure to interview Karri Bowen-Poole recently. She is the founder of Smart Playrooms. This is a completely unique idea of how to utilize how our children spend time in their playrooms.

There is no doubt that our children have an issue with screen time. We can set screen time, but let us be real here, we tend to let them have more as a reward. So that just increases their desire to have even more.

Smart Playroom

The playroom in my home is usually a cluster of toys that I am constantly having to clean up with my kids. It becomes such a chore for myself I do not even want to go in there. Which I dislike because I want to spend as much time with my kids as possible. That is why I work from home.

What if there was a way to create your playroom into something completely magical and useful? Would you be excited to know that it would decrease the clutter in your home and everything could be useful? I know those ideas alone make me completely excited.

Though the one thing that gets me even more, is how each area in the playroom can have your kid entertained and active! I know there are times when the weather is bad, I can not just shove my kids outside. Especially in the winter. This leads my kids to be less active and I dislike that. Our kids have energy they need to burn every day.

Smart Playroom

If these things excite you, you should really continue reading the interview below that I had with Karri Bowen-Poole. She goes into detail on how she came up with this idea and how amazing it is.

She took an idea and after a newspaper ad, her idea took flight! I find her story absolutely inspiring. Not only is she doing something amazing for kids and their families, but her dream came true. Should inspire anyone to follow their heart!

Smart Playroom

Karri Bowen-Poole

Founder of Smart Playrooms

www.smartplayrooms.com

@smartplayrooms

In what ways has your past experience helped you to start Smart Playrooms?

Karri: What has helped me the most in designing play spaces for children is my expertise as an educator (I have a Master’s degree in Education) and my experiences as both a teacher and mother. In order to design children’s playrooms, it is essential to have a complete understanding of child development and truly understand what activities engage, motivate and challenge children.

Were you surprised to get so many calls on your first ad in the newspaper?

Karri:  Yes! I was so pleasantly surprised that I was able to get my first client relatively easily. There was clearly a need/ interest from parents and no one at the time was offering design or organization services specific to the playroom. I started the playroom design business!

How has creating these Smart Playrooms fulfilled your life?

Karri: It has been my life’s mission to change the way kids play and learn which is why I went into teaching in the first place. My fifth-grade teacher inspired me in so many ways, and truly changed my life and I always wanted to be that teacher for other children. Becoming a teacher provided me with the opportunity to encourage students to love learning and to help shape their self-esteem and confidence.

Is it complicated working with so many people with different tastes?

Karri: Most parents are a little bewildered about what to put in the playroom. Most toys are lined up all along the walls and there is so much stuff everywhere. While clients do have specific tastes, I find they are really interested in providing developmentally appropriate and screen-free activities and organization systems that work really well. This is what I do best.

What has been your favorite design?

Karri: My favorite design was my Montessori-inspired, clutter-free neutral playroom in Soho that I designed for two young children. I really love designing neutral rooms that are minimalist. I am truly a complete minimalist myself and my entire house is gray and white.

Smart Playroom

What attracted you to the idea of Smart Playrooms?

Karri: The idea of Smart Playrooms came to me in the middle of the night, when I was brainstorming other ways of using all of my educational and teaching experience outside of the traditional classroom. I am the innovator of the term “Educational Design” and really started the movement of designing playrooms from an educator’s viewpoint and including challenging physical play kid gyms inside, like monkey bars and rock walls, etc…

What is the biggest challenge in these designs?

Karri: The biggest challenge is deciding what activities are best suited for the kids and how best to use the space. In the basement, we are also often faced with challenging obstacles like low ceilings, minimum lighting, etc…

Was there a large learning curve as you started out?

Karri: YES! I started Smart Playrooms focusing on the organization of the toys, storage, and how the children played. I really did not do any construction when I started out. Today, every design job involves some sort of construction or support or customization and requires so much more time and thought and the projects take much longer to complete.  But, boy are these spaces transformative and truly life-changing!

Is there anything you want people to know who are considering Smart Playrooms?

Karri: Our goal at Smart Playrooms is to create child-focused designs that are customized to the ages and interests of the children. We always combine interior design principles and functional organizational system with a complete understanding of child development.

Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself or Smart Playrooms?

Karri: In addition to our on-site design services in and around NYC and CT, we also offer 3 tiers of E-Design services for families that live outside of our area. In addition, we sell our favorite playroom products in our shop @smartd2playrooms, www.smartd2playrooms.com Lastly, we promise that WE WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOUR KIDS PLAY!

Smart Playroom

I truly loved interviewing Karri! There is so much that can be done for the playroom in your home. Down to utilizing every square inch to creating an indoor activity gym for your kids!

When she has to take the kids’ interests along with the space available into her thought process to make the best playroom for them. It is quite the task to do both. I know that I do not have a brain suited for that kind of creativity. All I can do is organize a space, so it is amazing to see what she has done.

I truly hope you enjoyed this interview and look into Smart Playrooms! You may find something amazing for yourself and utilize the space available to your kids to be creative and free to play.

Meet Karri Bowen-Poole

If you’ve ever heard the term “educational design,”  you have innovator and educator Karri Bowen-Poole to thank. As with most brilliant ideas, this one came to her in the middle of the night.  Given her master’s degree in education and 12 years as an elementary and preschool teacher, Karri’s first-hand experience of how young kids play and older ones learn, coupled with her five years as a mom observing her friends’ poorly-designed (and frequently ignored) playrooms, knew she was uniquely qualified to turn this “ah-ha moment” into a reality. So, she got to work. Once Karri refined her vision, she placed a single ad in her small, local paper to test the waters – she received eight phone calls and word spread from there.

The founder of Smart Playrooms, Karri has spent the last 10 years revolutionizing the way children learn and play. She’s designed hundreds of playrooms for a variety of children – including the children of celebrities like Nicky Hilton, Dylan Lauren, and Dan Girardi –  and customizes each one to fit the needs and interests of the children. Karri regularly receives inquiries from families around the world, and her innovative, educational designs have been featured in a variety of magazines and newspapers, including House Beautiful and The New York Times. Karri’s 2019 renovation of her personal garage, which transformed the space into an amazing kid gym, yoga studio, and sleepover nook for her family, was recently highlighted on Inside Edition this past summer. Karri’s groundbreaking playroom concept provides children with open-ended, engaging spaces that grow alongside them. She’s pioneered an entirely new way for kids to play at home.

As parents, we always like to know we are doing the best we can for our kids. It can be as simple as getting them in an extracurricular activity. They can help build our children into great people and keep them healthy. One such activity is ballet.

When my youngest was little, she was very interested in ballet. So I got her in a class, and she adored it. There are many incredible benefits to your child when in ballet. One is they are being active and keeping their little bodies healthy!

A fantastic benefit to ballet is that it helps build confidence. Not only in themselves as they keep participating, but also in your child’s self-image. They get to experience the amazing things their bodies can perform as they get more adept in their skills.

In our young children today, it is hard for them to have high self-esteem. They see so many things, and society puts high expectations on them. With ballet, they keep their bodies healthy, and confidence builds as well. This is self-esteem they create for themselves and is not reliant on anyone else.

I adore that it helps your children gain a sense of discipline and ease of following directions. This is so critical in ballet and life. They are building life skills as they continue down their path. The benefits of being in ballet are endless and so important.

One thing to help them on their journey with ballet is making sure they have the right clothing. This helps your child have the confidence as well in starting out. Stella is a trusted place for Girls Ballet Leotards

Stella has such great quality leotards at an affordable price. They come in a range of colors and designs as well, so your child does not have to wear the same thing every time. Gives them a sense of uniqueness.

It is incredibly important that your child start out completely prepared when starting out. This is something completely in your control. Starting them out on the path of building them into strong confident adults. All you have to do to start them out is have the right equipment.

The right equipment is a leotard and shoes. Something that makes them feel good and gets them going. Nothing worse than your kid feeling like they stick out like a sore thumb! It is just as important for us to make sure their start is great, as it is them putting in the work and effort.

Ballet is such an incredibly amazing personal builder physically and mentally. So if you are thinking about getting your children into something that builds them up as people for the long term, think of ballet. When it comes to ballet you can not go wrong in confident, healthy children that are at ease in front of a group!

When you think of getting your children into ballet or dance of any kind, think of Stella for your needs.

Thinking of buying good pillows, you need to remember toddlers need different support. Everyone needs a good pillow that is meant for our size and needs. IF they are not comfortable, sleep can be problematic. Keababies has the best pillow for our toddler’s needs.

When it comes to toddlers they do not get the support they need from a standard-sized pillow. They are far too big for their tiny necks and heads. So it is important to find just the right pillow. The KeaBabies Toddler Pillow is absolutely perfect for our little ones. Its ergonomic design brings a level of comfort that helps them fall asleep quickly and stay asleep.

Sleep is incredibly important for everyone, but more so for toddlers. They are growing so quickly and if they are not getting enough rest this can slow that process. It is so incredibly important for them. Without adequate sleep, this can also crush their immune system. Our little ones truly rely on sleep for their health.

There is so much I am picky about. When it comes to my children I want only the best. I want natural materials that will be touching my child’s head for 8+ hours a day. Keababies Toddler Pillow has everything I want in a pillow. It is incredibly soft and made of natural materials. Let us not forget it gives them the neck support they need.

Keababies Toddler Pillow also has many different pillowcase designs. There is something every child would love. Even mine and they are particularly picky. I love how cute they are and brings a smile to my face when I see my kids light up with something they love.

I know for my kids if they are not getting enough sleep they are bears. They don’t do well with learning new things, they are upset most of the day, and it is hard on them and us. Finding out that standard pillows were part of that problem became a game-changer in my family.

When it comes to your little ones, make sure they are getting the sleep they need. This requires a comfortable mattress and the perfect pillow. Help them to get the sleep they need that helps them to thrive and stay healthy! Think of KeaBabies when on your search for the best toddler pillow!

Right now, it is a crazy time for so many of us. We are all of us doing our part by staying home to keep our loved ones and others safe. With schools closed and people being deemed nonessential, that means more time at home. We have little ones to keep busy to save our sanity. This can sometimes be problematic.

You have the constant chaos that is nonstop now. Kids are yelling and full of energy, but they can’t go out with their friends or even to school. We have to come up with creative ways to keep them busy. For me, I also like them to learn new things to keep their brains always engaging.

Older Kids

This goes without saying, most older kids, or perhaps just mine, would sit in their rooms most of the day on their phones. To keep our sanity, we tend to let them do this longer than we want to. However, we need to get them out of their rooms and doing something. I have my oldest helping me bake. That seems to keep her busy and is educational. My favorite part is passing on my family recipes to her and making great memories.

Another option I like to do is playing video games with her. Yes, this is more screen time. However, this is screen time engaging with me. Having fun and laughing together. Something else we do is popping popcorn, and she has introduced me to her favorite show. We have the time now with everything going on, and so that gives me the chance to get into her favorite show.

Now some less screen time options are to teach them to sew, crochet, knit. Perhaps some arts and crafts projects. My oldest is an artist, and so she loves to draw. This is the time I really nurture that and set her all up and push her to create. If we are not doing that, we will play some board games together. We luckily have a bunch of those!

Just keep them engaged with you or with their siblings while we are social distancing. A little more screen time right now will not kill them, but try to make sure it is not their entire day. They need social interaction with you most of all.

Kids

The age between preschoolers and older kids is a great age! There are so many things that keep them occupied. Mine loves to play on her tablet with different games, and most of all, loves youtube. During her developmental stages, she needs more engagements socially. With social distancing, she is not getting that. So that means it is left up to her older sister and me to keep her socializing.

We play age-appropriate board games together to keep her busy. She loves going outside, so we will play in the yard on beautiful days. Sadly during this time, the weather has been insane. Only a handful of nice days, I have been able to take them out. Rain, snow, cold, and intense wind seem to be typical lately. So when the weather is nice, take advantage and play some games outside. Blow bubbles, sidewalk chalk, hide and seek, tag, and red rover are all great options for outdoor play.

Coloring together is something my kid loves to do. So we sit at the table with markers, crayons, color pencils, and we color. Grab some coloring books and even some blank pieces of paper. We will even play games of drawing different things, and she loves it. Crafts of any kind would do well also. Sadly I am not that amazing at being crafty.

We recently got a subscription for Disney+, so I have been introducing her to many classics from my childhood. She loves them all immensely. Nothing better than popping some popcorn and sitting down to share my favorites with all my children.

She loves her screentime, but I try to make sure each day we do have some engaging. When I bake with her older sister, she loves to join in as well. She can’t grasp the family recipes, but she likes to stir and is learning to break eggs like a champ!

Preschoolers

This one, for me, has always been harder to manage as an age group. I am not a crafty person, as I have mentioned before. So I need a little assistance. Creating something and then being able to play with it is a vital part of being a preschooler. I need a little help with that, and so I recruit help from Sago Mini. They have a monthly subscription that they send to your home.

Engage with your kids and bring them growth with their imagination. Each box comes with something to make-and-play along with a collectible figure and a letter you can read aloud to your kid. I am a firm believer that kids learn from play, and luckily that happens here. They also have amazing apps with the collectible figures as characters. My daughter loves them so much.

Preschoolers also enjoy baking, or at the very least, eating what they “helped” bake. So bake some cookies together and watch a movie. They just love spending time with you, and of course, who does not enjoy delicious snacks? Share with them an age-appropriate favorite from your childhood. When they love one of my childhood favorites, it warms my heart.

Get those coloring books out and color together. Laugh and engage together while you do it. They love spending time with you and want to do things together. Now is the best time to do it all while we are home. Don’t take this time for granted!

Go outside when the weather is good and teach them old outdoor games from when you were a kid. Run around and laugh, having a great time. Hopefully, the weather will turn soon, and we can start running in sprinklers!

Don’t be afraid of a little extra screen time; they are home more too. Though keep them engaged and doing fun things together. Stop looking at social distancing as a problem and look at it as a gift; extra time with your kids for a limited time.

Did you realize that only around 33% of the children in the United States are considered physically active? If your child sits inside all of the time and plays videogames, they will probably become bored and unhealthy. Rather than letting your child become a couch potato, you need to take action. If your child has exhibited an interest in dancing, signing them up for classes at the local dance studio is a good idea.

Most parents fail to realize just how beneficial dance classes can be for their children. The following are some of the ways dance classes can have a positive effect on your child.

A Great Way to Get Your Child Physically Active

Keeping your child healthy and happy should be one of the biggest priorities you have as a parent. Trying to find time to exercise after a long day at work and school can be difficult for you and your child. This is why you need to think about enrolling them in dance classes. These classes are not only physically demanding, they are also a lot of fun.

All you have to do is pay for the classes and maybe a pair of ballet shoes to get your child started. Before choosing a dance school for your child, take some time to find out more about the reputation they have. Selecting a company with a great reputation and tons of experience can help you get the results you are looking for.

Your Child Can Meet New People in Their Dance Class

Is your child a bit shy? If so, finding ways to bring them out of their shell is crucial. Putting them in an environment that allows them to have fun and socialize with children their own age can be beneficial. A dance class is usually filled with children eager to talk and have fun together.

The relationships your child creates in their dance class can last a lifetime. Ideally, you want to find a dance school that has classes for all age groups. Choosing a school like this will allow you to keep your child in dance as long as they want. While your child might be apprehensive to go to a dance class for the first time, they will learn to love it. By encouraging them and informing them about what they can expect when they arrive at their new dance school can be helpful.

Teach Your Child to be Persistent

Building character is something all children have to do. The best way to help your child with this task is by putting them in difficult situations. In the beginning, your child will have a hard time getting their dance moves right. Getting over this hump will require a lot of work and perseverance. Showing your child that their hard work will pay off can make a big impression on them. Having a positive attitude can serve your child well as they start to grow and mature.

Take Your Time When Choosing a Dance School

Before you choose a dance school to enroll your child in, take some time to figure out what your options are. With some online research, you should have no problem finding the right dance school.

Every week I set a day aside time just to do fun things with my kids. This just happens to be Sunday for us. The kids look forward to it every week. Sometimes we spend all day in our PJs doing crafts or playing games. One great addition to our Sundays is Allessimo

With Allessimo, you can help bring imagination to your children! They are wooden 3D puzzles that you can then paint once you have them together. My kids genuinely adore putting these together and essentially bringing something to life.

My daughters love creating things. I prefer something to be somewhat educational as well. So lucky for me that Allessimo is more than just a fun 3D puzzle. It helps with STEM skills and helping them learn critical thinking. It truly helps them think outside the box.

I love helping my girls be as creative as possible. The more they practice, the more confident they become. It also shows in their work over time how much they learn and what they enjoy doing. I encourage all of their creative endeavors. Allessimo truly helps with their creativity and so much more.

Create Memories With Your Kids

Creating memories with my children is one of the most important things to me. My kids won’t remember how much money I made or what I bought them. My kids will remember the things we did together and the fun times we had. I think when it is also education, and they don’t know it, it makes it that much better for me.

There is a wide range of options that will appeal to anyone. You can choose from animals, dinosaurs, vehicles that are for air, land, and sea! My youngest is really into dinosaurs and unicorns, so that is what she gravitates too. My oldest loves all animals. So there is a way for them all to be happy.

Having my kids build these puzzles uses both sides of their brain. They are trying to get the pieces together to fit perfectly. Once that is complete, my youngest favorite part is painting! It brings out the creative aspect of each of these puzzles.

Amazingly crafted pieces and high quality paints to create something amazing with your children. It brings memories they will remember forever and a neat figure when it is done that they can set up in their room. Such a unique and fun reminder of great times together and how their brains worked to make something beautiful.

When thinking of great things to do with your children to help their minds grow, think of Allessimo. Let there be learning and creativity to help your kid’s minds grow. The best part for me is the memories we create together as we build together.
